The Borrins is a lovely care home for older ladies and gentlemen, situated in a lovely part of Shipley. A small, very homely home with just 25 bedrooms our residents soon feel at home here with us!
Situated in a pleasant residential area of Shipley, The Borrins is a lovely old half timbered house, with a very homely environment, pretty gardens surrounding the home, a conservatory and its own car park.
The building is full of olde worlde charm whilst having all the modern amenities one would expect in a high quality care home.
Our food here at The Borrins is wonderfully tasty with a choice of menu available at every mealtime. We also offer excellent individually prepared and nutritionally balanced texture modified meals for residents who have swallowing difficulties.
Visitors are welcome at any time and if you would like to come and have a meal with your loved-one just let us know.
The information in the ‘types of care’ section of our website is general, and gives an example of some of the conditions and illnesses that we have experience with, however it is by no means exhaustive. In addition it is not uncommon for older people to experience more than one illness- for example a person with dementia may also suffer from arthritis, or have had a stroke.
Each person is an individual with different requirements, and all potential residents are fully assessed to ensure that we are able to meet their individual needs before we offer a placement.
With our experienced care team, we are able to care for people living with many different types of illnesses and conditions. Our staff are well trained and our buildings are designed to help residents to maintain their independence as much as possible. All of our homes have at least one passenger lift and are fully equipped in terms of safety, from individual call buzzers to specialised individual call systems for people who are unable to use their call buzzers.
All of our homes have both communal and quieter, more private spaces for our residents to enjoy, and benefit from many types of aids and adaptations to help our residents live as full and independent a life as possible.
The staff at Rockingham give care to both residents and their families. It’s nice to be able to talk and laugh about things. They keep me safe and help me cope.

Being a very beautiful home with several lounges and a lovely conservatory and lovely grounds surrounding the home there are lots of places to choose from to sit and enjoy life here at The Borrins.
We love to celebrate; everyone receives a birthday cake and Christmas is a very jolly time here with Christmas presents, and of course the traditional roast Christmas turkey with all the trimmings!
